I managed to eke out an unspectacular gain of 5.5% this week, but I’m satisfied because I played a cautious game and consequently the intra-week volatility of my results was a lot lower than usual. I’m treading carefully because the £12,000 equity level has become both a target and an a obstacle. I know it’s just a number, but the last time I hit this level I experienced a big drawdown (-17.7%). This time around, even though I am not a superstitious man, I return to this level with a slight sense of trepidation.
I’m giving myself a score of 7.5 out of 10 for adhering to my road map because I had one or two minor discretions in the week. Overall, however, I am happy with the performance of this more constrained approach.
